A friend of mine posted today on facebook something I thought was so very interesting. Now I do not think this friend asked anything any one of us have not asked ourselves. Why? Why God? What was the point?

So here is her post: Do u ever wonder y the lord puts people in your past? I am wondering that today working in long term care u know that snow days are the worst. I went to work early this morning was one of the first ones there. I tried cheerleading for the staff to let them know we were going to have a great day even though we all knew there was work to be done and they were tired I got them coffee and arranged breakfast, took care of the to wonderful people that are getting g ready to pass and talked with their family, I shoveled the front walk so the ambulances wouldn’t slip, passed ice for the whole building so it was one less thing they had to do. Then u was called to the front lobby for someone who wanted to volunteer I explained to her that she couldn’t volunteer without the paperwork and background check gave her the Application and went and did an activity with my residents. I came back later and she was sitting at the table filling it out she told me that she though we may need help and she wanted to come help I finished helping her and told her I would call her next week later I found out she was still there one of the staff gave her a lunch tray and we finally figured out she was homeless. I got social services involved and we talked to her and she seemed with it but we were unsure if she might have some confusion or dementia. We tried to have the emt take her to the hospital for the night they couldn’t without her ok. So they left. She had dress shoes on so one of my staff gave her a pair of boots and she desired to leave we tried to help her but she ended up leaving the building which broke my heart. A visitor gave her a ride some where don’t know where she talked about going to the laundromat so when I left I went there and she wasn’t there. I am wondering where she went. I know god brought here into my life for a reason when u looked at the application she filled out her name was Mary J. I grew up knowing an elderly women named Mary Jewel. Why did the lord bring Mary into my life again and me not be able to help her?

As I thought about this I found a bible verse for this very occasion. Romans 11:33-36 MSG

Have you ever come on anything quite like this extravagant generosity of God, this deep, deep wisdom? It’s way over our heads. We’ll never figure it out. Is there anyone around who can explain God? Anyone smart enough to tell him what to do? Anyone who has done him such a huge favor that God has to ask his advice? Everything comes from him; Everything happens through him; Everything ends up in him. Always glory! Always praise! YES. YES. YES.

My response to her was “Maybe you did help her!”
